The intermediate section of Free Maths Games will offer learning and revision activities for intermediate students from ages 11 to 16 in their study of maths.
The intermediate section of Free Maths Games will offer topics required by intermediate students from ages 11 to 16 in their study of maths. We are currently projecting roughly 1000 topics will be required.
Topics will be divided into 6 top level categories: Number, Algebra, Ratio proportion rate, Geometry & measures, Probability and Statistics.
Each top level category will be divided into sub-categories. The sub-categories for Number are listed below (though not all age groups will see all sub-categories).
Order & compare, Powers & Roots, Multiples, Factors, Primes, Order of operations, Number machines, Fractions, Decimals, Percentages, Standard units, Rounding & estimating.
Place value: measures, Imperial to metric, Metric to imperial, Ratio, Percentages, Proportions, Compound units, Scale.
The sub-categories for Geometry & measures are:
Circle, Measures of 2D shapes, Measures of 3D shapes, Measures of angles, Compass construction, Triangles, Right-angle triangles, Non right-angle triangles, Quadrilaterals, Polygons, Transformations, Similar shapes, Graphs, Vectors.
The sub-categories for Probability are:
Expressing probability, Tables, diagrams & trees, Types of event.
The sub-categories for Statistics are:
Sets of numbers, Discrete data, Continuous data, Cumulative data, Two variables.
The activities offered in the intermediate section of Free Maths Games will roughly approximate to those available in the beginner section.
